I had never played piano and I heard this on a TV advert and was determined to play it. My partner managed to get her old weighted key keyboard for me and I sat for about 2 years learning it and can now play it fully. This video was a great source of help. I’ve been trying to find the advert (UK) from which I heard this (7-8 years ago) but I can’t. It would be nice to remember what inspired me to play this brilliant piece of music.

Oh how i wish when i grew up, to be able to play piano and play this piece. Nevertheless, a timeless masterpiece!

Nick, This Rag has a melancholy sadness to it, but still moments of optimism. I felt disappointed you didn't feel that. You raced through it like a bull in a China shop. I think this a late rag, he would have experienced a lot of tragedy by the time he came to writing this piece. I agree with @PianoSkol this is his best rag with some really heartful moments.

I’m 14, started piano at age 10 and can do grade 8 pieces such as interstellar (patrik pietchsmans version) etc, I learnt this piece (not this version it was by a girl called dasha shpringer I learnt her version) in 3 days fluently and everything I learn most pieces between a 2-5 day period and some call me gifted lol maybe I am I don’t know, my piano teacher asks me how I always find the basic easy rhythms harder and the fast advanced rythm’s easier I don’t know why lol he was teaching me a really really basic beginner piece and it took me 50 tries to get it and when he showed me a super speedy fast advanced piece it too me 2 tries to get it 😂
